For the 2026 summer season is increasing the offer of Ryanair flights to Malaga and the Costa del Sol, with a total of 91 routes, four of them new, and more than 50 additional weekly flights. We’ll tell you all about it below!
Malaga Airport, Ryanair’s second largest base in Spain
Malaga is the company´s second airport in Spain terms of passenger traffic, behind Barcelona.
The capital of the Costa del Sol is a destination where the company began operating in 2003. Since then, it has continued to expand. It currently holds a considerable market share of 30% of total passengers at the Costa del Sol airport.
For this summer season of 2026, the Irish low-cost airline is increasing its offer of flights to Malaga with four new routes and 500,000 additional seats.
In total, this is 6.6 million seats, which is 8% more than last season. In addition, two new aircraft will be operating at the Malaga airfield, bringing the total number of aircraft on the Costa del Sol to 20.
New flight connections to Malaga
There are four new destinations that will have connections with Malaga in the next six months until the end of October:
- Katowice (Poland)
- Košice (Slovakia)
- Bratislava (Slovakia)
- Pardubice (Czech Republic)
The two newest routes began operating this winter season and, for the first time, will extend into the summer.
The Bratislava connection will have four weekly flights, while the Katowice, Košice, and Pardubice routes will have two.
Reinforcement on the most popular routes
Ryanair will also reinforce some of its most popular routes to up to 39 destinations, such as Rome, Liverpool, Tangier, Bologna and Copenhagen, adding 50 new weekly flights.
In total, this airline alone will operate 589 flights per week at the Costa del Sol airport this peak season.

Reassuring message regarding kerosene prices rising due to the Iran War
Given the uncertainty surrounding the Iran-conflict for airlines, Ryanair’s spokesperson in Spain has issued a message of reassurance.
On the one hand, the low-cost airline is not anticipating a price increase for tickets. This is because they have secured the price of 80% of their fuel until March 2027 at $67 per barrel. On the other hand, the airline has kerosene reserves until next May.
According to the spokesperson, if all goes well, there will be no supply problems. Otherwise, they will be closely monitoring the situation because supply disruptions could begin at some European airports after that date.
