Estepona

The town of Estepona is a fantastic holiday destination in Southern Spain for those who want a relaxing sunshine break.

With more than 20 kilometres of amazing beaches, including two awarded with the Blue Flag, and around 325 days of sunshine every year, it’s easy to see why.

Top Quality Holiday Destination

Estepona is an open secret amongst the more affluent clientele who seek excellent facilities and a low profile. As such, the municipality has, along with its more bustling neighbour Marbella, the highest number of both five-star hotels and golf courses in the province.

At the same time as Estepona has made a name for itself as a top quality holiday destination, it has managed to maintain its former fishing village charm like very few towns along the coast.

The old town in particular deserves a special mention. In the last decade, the village has taken great care to decorate its streets and squares with a multitude of flower pots and plants.

As a result, it has become known as “The Garden of the Costa del Sol”. It is a pure pleasure to stroll through these charming streets and enjoy a coffee at one of it´s Plazas.

In the old centre you find also the beautiful Orchid park, a newer tourist attraction you should not miss.

Estepona also has a very pretty marina which is almost Caribbean in style. It is both a fishing and yachting harbour and is full of bars, cafes and restaurants. In the evenings there is a lively nightlife.

The Senda Litoral (the Coastal walkway) also passes through Estepona. It is a path connecting the entire costa from Nerja to Manilva. It allows you to walk along the coast next to the sea enjoying natural areas of great value.

While there are local historical attractions, golf courses, and may bars and restaurants, the town doesn’t have a reputation as a nightlife destination and avoids the clubbing culture found in other parts of the Costa del Sol.
