The new tourist office in Malaga airport improves passenger service

The tourist office in Malaga airport aims to improve attention to travelers seeking information about Andalucia on arrival at destination.

For this facility, located in the arrivals area of Terminal 3 of Malaga airport, there have been realized several improvements along with a transparent design and open to customers.

Passengers have access to this area after collecting their luggage at the terminal 3. The opening hours are Monday to Friday 8 am to 7.30 pm and weekends from 9.30 am to 3 pm.

Malaga Airport received last year about 63% of arrivals by air to Andalusia, with a total of 5.98 million passengers, placing it in fourth position at national level and with an increase of 4.1% over the previous year.

It also highlights the high proportion of arrivals from foreign airports, which in 2010 came to represent 79% of the total, higher than the average Andalusian and about 20 percentage points above the Spanish average, which stands at 60 %.

By markets, 36% of passengers recorded last year in Malaga Airport came from the UK, followed by domestic arrivals with 21%. Situated behind are the German travelers and those from the Nordic countries.

The tourist office in Malaga airport received 72,050 visits last year and was one of the network facilities of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Sport, which grew most, with a 14.7% increase in the number of consultations in relation to the previous year.

Coinciding with the profile of travelers arriving at Malaga airport, most of the consultations were made by foreign tourists, with 59,922 inquiries. The busiest months were July with more than 9,000 consultations and June with 7,406.
