Nearby Marbella, famed for glitz, glamour and gorgeous beaches is also host to one of Malaga’s largest Fiestas – the San Bernabé Fiesta and Summer Fair. Held mid-June in honour of Marbella’s Patron Saint, this week long event is a riot of colour and fun for all the family.
A riotous combination of flamenco music, street parades with traditional costumes and Spanish dancing, lots of local food and plenty of drink, the San Bernabé Fiesta takes place from June 9th-15th. Celebrations usually begin in Marbella Old Town, with locals and visitors taking to the streets, squares and bars from early morning, throughout the day and into the night – before finally making their way to the jam packed funfair. This year sees the addition of a number of child-friendly attractions, including a special Kids area where children can enjoy craft and other activities in safety while waiting for the funfair to start! Don’t miss ‘Kids Day’ on Wednesday June 12th, with 50% off rides at the children’s fairground. Top tips – come early and prepare for large crowds! Click here to see the full schedule of events.
