Malaga airport was the second most used Spanish airport by low cost airlines in July, after Palma de Mallorca, with 504.581 passengers, representing an increase of 11’8% over the same month in 2009.
Nationally, low-cost airlines transported more than four million passengers in July, representing a 10% increase over the same month in 2009, compared to traditional companies, which moved to 2.85 million passengers, three percent more, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
In July, the traditional airlines accounted for 41.6% of the entry of passengers, following the trend of previous months, while low-cost airlines billed more than half of all international passenger tickets to Spain, 58.4% from the 6.86 million passengers who passed through Spanish airports.
