Direct flights New York – Malaga summer 2023 with United Airlines

Finally, after 3 years, we can enjoy again a direct flight connecting the cosmopolitan city of New York with Malaga.

This very popular and highly demanded route in high season from the American hub to the sunny Costa del Sol, formerly offered by Delta Airlines stopped operating after the summer of 2019.

From 31 May, United Airlines will offer 52 flights between Malaga and New York-Newark airports this summer season.

The frequency will be three times a week, with more than 17,000 seats in both directions.

The first flight will depart from New York on Wednesday 31st May and will land on 1st June in Malaga, while the first flight from the Costa del Sol will depart on Friday 2nd June.

This new seasonal non-stop flight from Malaga – New York/Newark will be operated with a Boeing 757-200 aircraft, with a total of 169 seats.

There are available 16 lie-flat seats in United PolarisSM business class. This is a premium travel experience that prioritises relaxation and comfort, with quality in-flight meals, premium Sunday Riley toiletries and lie-flat seats.

Furthermore, there are 153 seats in economy class, including 45 Economy PlusSM seats with legroom and more personal space.

This long-haul flight from Newark (EWR) to Malaga (AGP) takes about 7 hours and 40 minutes, the distance is 3688 miles (5.935 km).

Roundtrip or one way ticket?

If you’re planning a round trip New York – Malaga, booking a return flight is usually the cheapest option.

Málaga is United’s fifth Spanish destination in addition to Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife. In total there are eight flights from Spain to the USA: five of them to New York, two to Washington (from Barcelona and Madrid), and one to Chicago O’Hare (from Barcelona).

Flights from Madrid and Barcelona operate all year round, while the other Spanish destinations are only available in the summer, and are therefore in high demand. Due to this demand, United’s supply of transatlantic flights to Spain is 25% higher than in 2022.

Solheim Cup September 2023 in Malaga, Spain

A great incentive for golf lovers to come to Malaga this summer will be the celebration of the Solheim Cup on the Costa del Sol.

This women’s professional golf tournament, the most important on the international calendar, pits teams from Europe and the United States against each other every two years. Two teams of 12 players representing Europe and the United States compete in the Solheim Cup over three days in the same format as the Ryder Cup.

The tournament will take place in Casares, at Finca Cortesín, from 18 to 24 September. In recent years, Finca Cortesín has established itself as the leading luxury resort.
