Resuming flights between Malaga and Iceland
Icelandair will offer direct flights between Malaga and Iceland from September.
Iceland’s flag carrier, based in its capital Reykjavik, is once again including the Costa del Sol as a destination to which it will fly in Spain.
This company adds the Costa del Sol as the sixth destination in Spain with a direct connection in addition to Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
This connection will be the only direct route between Andalusia and Iceland.

Specifically, the capital of the Costa del Sol, Malaga, will be connected to the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, with direct flights from 6 September 2025 to 30 May 2026.
In the past, the connection to Malaga Airport had only been programmed on an occasional basis with few operations in 2022 and 2023.
Flight Frequencies
These new connections for 2025/26 will offer up to two frequencies per week.
During the months of September and October, as well as in April and May, there will be two flights per week.
In the months between November and March there will be one flight per week, with the parenthesis that Icelandair has no scheduled flights in January and February 2026.
Malaga, the perfect winter destination

Icelandair already includes the destination Malaga on its website where it invites you to book a flight with the attractions of ‘Picasso, tapas and a good sunny atmosphere’.
