Malaga is the third busiest “low cost” airport

 

Malaga airport is, after Barcelona El Prat and Barajas in Madrid, Spain’s third most used airport by low cost airlines which 2011 continue their relentless rise in the number of passengers and share market.

During the first four months of the year, Malaga airport registered a total of 999,553 passengers with these companies, 19.3% more than the same period last year.

For markets, the UK and Germany lead the entries in low-cost carriers, with 32.7% and 20.3% of passengers who chose this means of transport, respectively, with respective increases of 14.1% for the UK market (2.9 million passengers) and 14.4% for the German market (1.8 million passengers).

Low cost airlines operating in Malaga are Ryanair, Vueling, Air Lingus, Air Berlin, Condor, Easyjet, Flybe, Germanwings, Jet2com, Jetairfly, Monarch and TUI among others.
