Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport continues to grow and evolve. We are highlighting a recent press release regarding the next major change the airport is preparing.
New VIP Fast Track at Malaga Airport
Aena (Spanish Airports and Air Navigation) will build a new, exclusive VIP Fast Track access point in Terminal 3 to directly expedite the passage of priority passengers to the boarding area.
This plan addresses the significant increase in traffic at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, aiming to meet the high demand from users who pay for the “Fast Lane” to avoid queues during peak tourist periods. Thus, will improve the experience for frequent travellers and those willing to pay to save time before boarding.
AENA anticipates a six-month implementation period; in other words, the Fast Track should be operational by Christmas 2026.
What is a Fast Track?
Fast Track is a paid service that allows certain passengers to pass through security checkpoints much faster than other travellers.
VIP Fast Track and Fast Lane at Malaga Airport: are they the same?
Malaga Airport currently offers a service known as Fast Lane.
This Fast Lane provides access to a priority queue. This allows passengers (such as families with children) to avoid the lines before the security checkpoint. By scanning your priority pass, you enter via a separate, exclusive lane. However, baggage screening is carried out using the same scanning machines as those used by other passengers.
This is a particularly important factor during peak season, when waiting at the security checkpoint can cost valuable time and cause stress.
The difference between the new VIP Fast Track and the Fast Lane
The VIP Fast Track at Malaga Airport will feature a dedicated, separate access point designed to minimize waiting times. This new project will include its own scanning and physical inspection equipment integrated into an exclusive checkpoint, connected directly to the boarding area.
The new facility will be located in Terminal 3, next to the airport’s main security checkpoint.
Who can use the Fast Line and the VIP Fast Track?
This type of additional service is available for a fee, although some airlines include it in certain ticket classes or loyalty programs.
Regarding the new VIP Fast Track, users will even be able to book this priority access up to one hour before their flight’s departure.
- The current Fast Lane service at Malaga Airport has an official price of €11.10 (as of June 2026) per person for priority access to the general security checkpoint in Terminal 3. Children aged 0 to 5 can access the service for free if accompanied by an adult holding a pass.

You can purchase your access in advance via the official Aena VIP Services website.
In general, you can access the lanes for free if you meet any of the following requirements:
