Cadiz Travel Guide

Cadiz is steeped in history, and is cited as the oldest inhabited city in Europe - founded more than 3000 years ago. For centuries Cadiz was Spain's main port, particularly for atlantic crossings to the Americas.

With such rich history there are plenty of museums, churches & cathedrals, and points of interest such as the old prison and the classically styled town hall, and the city maintains its traditional feel with its narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, fine wrought ironwork, and many many gardens bursting with immense variety and colour.

The carnival takes place every February, and there are also processions during Easter.

Around the city's coastline are long beaches littered with little coves and pockets of tranquility.
