Ryanair has closed 2010 reaching 26.5 million passengers in Spain, representing an increase of 38% compared to data recorded in the previous year, i.e., seven million passengers more than in 2009.
The low cost company expects an increase in the number of tourists to Spain and estimated a 300% growth in its bases Barcelona-El Prat; 90% at the airport in Seville; while Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife will grow by 50%.
In the case of Malaga airport, where the controversial Irish company also has an operations centre, the estimated growth for 2011 will be around 20%.
In that sense, this exercise will be a brilliant year for those Spanish airports working with Ryanair on reducing costs and increasing passengers.
