More than 240K passengers expected for this weekend at Malaga airport
The tourism in Malaga has noticeably improved during 2013, getting back to the figures prior to economic crisis, largely due to the extensive offer of flights connecting Costa del Sol airport with almost any city in the world. Besides this, the amazing weather of this holiday destination and the revolts in North African countries consolidates Malaga as one of the favourite coastal destinations in Europe.
According to AENA statistics, there are almost 1500 flights scheduled for this weekend, moving over 242000 passengers. Next Saturday will be established a new record of passengers influx in 2013, with 66145 users in a single day. This so marked increase is due to the long weekend of August, celebrated from the 15th to the 18th of August in Spain, so most of the arrival flights will come from other Spanish cities.
For all of you who arrive to Malaga this weekend, you cannot miss one of the most popular celebrations in Malaga, along with Easter, the well-known “Feria de Malaga” (Malaga’s Fair). In addition to the nightly fair held in the “Palacio de Ferias de Malaga”, you can also enjoy the daily fair, which is held in Malaga centre from 10 am. Tapas, muscatel, expositions, live music and much more is waiting for you in Malaga from the 16th to the 25th of August.
Many of you will probably hire a car in Malaga during the weekend, as it is one of the most comfortable and cheap means of transport in the Costa del Sol. The traffic will be especially heavy during the following days, compared to the rest of the year, so the chances of getting involved in a car accident increase noticeably. Please pay special attention while driving and remember, if you are drinking, forget about getting around by car.
Finally, it is noteworthy to mention that the weather forecast it very favourable, as the maximum temperature won’t exceed from 30ºC, and the minimum won’t drop beyond 22ºC.
If you are one of the lucky ones who will enjoy some free days, what are you going to do during this long weekend?
