Over 1,300,000 travellers passed through the airport in Malaga, Costa del Sol in June, representing an increase of 2 per cent over the same period of 2011 and the first increase in passengers recorded at Malaga airport so far this year.
Most travellers (1,107,864) that used in June Malaga airport travelled in international flights; more than a third of them coming from or going to the UK (37.1%), followed by Germany (7.2%) and Ireland (6%).
Moreover, during the first half of this year have arrived at the port of Malaga 279,632 cruise passengers, which meant an annual increase of 14.7 per cent, consolidating this site as one of the most important ports for Mediterranean cruise traffic, as reported by the Port Authority in a statement. Of the total, 70,618 passengers embarked and disembarked at the port of Malaga, which means one in four passengers who arrived in the city.
